Data Deletion Instructions

You can ask RozTube Media Ltd ("RozTube") to delete any personal data we hold about you at any time. This page explains how to make the request, what we delete and how long it takes. It applies to every visitor to roztube.com, wherever you live.

What personal data we might hold

RozTube does not offer visitor accounts, so for most people we hold very little. The personal data that can exist is:

  • Contact form submissions: your name, email address and message, if you have written to us through the contact page.
  • Report submissions: the details you gave when using the Report button on a post, including your email address if you chose to provide it.
  • Comments: the display name and text of any comment you posted, where comments are enabled, plus the IP address recorded for abuse prevention.
  • Emails you have sent to any of our addresses.
  • Server logs: your IP address and the pages you requested, kept for up to 30 days.

Preferences such as your theme, player volume and cookie choice are stored only in your own browser and never reach us; clearing your browser's site data for roztube.com removes them.

How to request deletion

Send an email to privacy@roztube.com with the subject line "Data deletion request". Please include:

  1. the email address or name you used when contacting us, posting a comment or filing a report, so that we can find your data;
  2. what you would like deleted (everything, or specific items);
  3. if you are making the request on someone else's behalf, evidence that you are entitled to do so.

If you cannot use email, you can send the same information through the contact form; mention that it is a deletion request.

Verification

To protect you, we verify requests before acting on them. Usually this means replying to the email address that appears in our records and asking you to confirm. We never ask for passwords, identity documents or payment details for a deletion request.

What we delete, and how quickly

Once your request is verified we:

  • delete your contact form messages and the emails exchanged with you;
  • delete your report submissions, or strip them of anything that identifies you where we must keep a record that a report was handled;
  • delete your comments, or replace them with an anonymous placeholder if removing them would break a conversation thread you were not the only participant in;
  • remove any server log entries that can be linked to you, if they have not already expired.

We complete deletion within 30 days of verifying your request. Data in encrypted backups is removed automatically as those backups rotate, which takes at most a further 30 days.

Confirmation

When deletion is complete we send a confirmation to the email address you used for the request. If we have kept anything, for example because the law requires us to retain a record of a copyright notice or of a report involving illegal content, we will tell you what and why.

Limits

We may decline or limit a request only where the law requires us to keep the data, where it is needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, or where we cannot verify that the request comes from you. We will always explain our reasons.

Your other rights

Deletion is one of several rights you have over your data, including access, correction and objection. They are described in our Privacy Policy, which also explains how to complain to a supervisory authority if you are unhappy with how we handled your request.
